The Mang Blorg

The first contribution to open source Mang. Ulina Small posted on enchanted droppings blog “I can draw him cause he is open source.” That’s right, mang is open source! You can view his character source code (coming soon) and create your own mang.

Ulina’s lady Mangette has a cute little bow on top of her head and is kinda jenky.. just how we like it. I wonder what kind of jenky antics she gets herself into?

Mang, the lazy USB flash drive, is put to work by his owner to download Britney Spears pictures.

This video is the debut of Mang’s voice. I was not thrilled with the outcome, but feel it is ok for a first attempt. Yonatan Kelib and I shot the animation in less than an hour in the ITP video lab 2006. Most of our time was spent building the usb drive & sequencing the video. And yes USB Mang does work, what he may lack in storage capacity (only 128MB) he more than makes up for in character and style.
