This is the very first completed Mang comic. I finished it over the course of ~2 months in 7th grade. On hindsight, the comic is extremely violent as over 75% of it is of Mang getting slaughtered by the S.F. Ninjas! I don’t pick Mang back up until highschool when I begin drawing the adventures of Kidmang.

On his way to school, Mang is attacked by the low-life Smiley Face Ninja Gang; a group of scumbag bullies who have missappropriated the art of ninjtsu for personal gain. Although Mang looks big, he’s only a little kid being thrashed by grown up ninjas!
Jonathan Brosnan inked the first few frames but stopped because it was taking too much time. This is how middle schoolers roll!

Drawn in 1994 when I was in 7th grade, this is the first appearance of Mang. I randomly decided to draw a comic and named the protagonist Mang. The name came to me out of the blue and I’ve stuck with it since. At the time, Mang’s character was not defined. He was a skater like me and was really jenky.
