Tabbed Spotting

Software prototype for faster and more accessible e-mail navigation.

This Flash e-mail prototype allows you to compose and send an email entirely from your keyboard (no mouse or trackpad needed). It is a proof of concept for an all keyboard user interface.

HOW TO USE DEMO: The objective is to compose and send an email entirely from the keyboard.

  1. To begin, click on the e-mail client below to give it focus.
  2. Begin typing your sample email.
  3. Use TAB to jump between fields.
  4. When you are ready to send your email, press SHIFT + SPACE
    This enters you into 'Tabbed Spotting' mode where you can select and activate buttons with the ARROWS and ENTER keys.
  5. Press SHIFT + SPACE again to exit 'Tabbed Spotting' mode.
